At Achieving Above Average, our main goal is to provide exceptional accommodation and support services for Looked-After Children and Young People aged 8 to 18 years who have mild to moderate learning disabilities on the Special Educational Needs spectrum. We established this organization with the aim of offering high-quality residential care services to Children and Young People Looked-After (CLA) who have been assessed as experiencing mild and moderate learning disabilities in the London Borough of Merton and surrounding areas.

The children and young people we cater to have come into the care of the local authority through two different routes: either being accommodated under section 20 Children Act 1989 or being made the subject of a Care Order under section 31 Children Act 1989.

In addition to providing accommodation services that help local authorities fulfill their Corporate Parenting duties, Achieving Above Average is dedicated to offering tailored support to each young person in our care, ensuring their development and success in adulthood.

Our main objective is to provide highly individualized packages that enable young service users to develop holistically, giving them a greater chance of enjoying a successful adulthood. To achieve this, we have set up a designed and furnished property in Wimbledon that can accommodate and support four young people aged 8 to 18 years.

Our purpose-designed building is staffed by qualified and vetted professionals who are available 24/7/365. Our trained and supported staff provide a range of support services that address the health, welfare, educational, social, psychological, and personal needs of the young people in our care. The specific activities we undertake are based on each young person's Care Plan, which we develop in collaboration with commissioners, stakeholders, and the young people themselves.

Mission Statement:

At Achieving Above Average, we are determined to raise the standard of care for children and young people with disabilities. Unlike many residential care providers who prioritize profit over the needs of the young people in their care, we strive to provide a family home-from-home experience for our young service users. Central to delivering this high-quality care is ensuring a strong connection between our inspirational and aspirational staff and the young people they care for. From day one, we actively work with the young people to build nurturing and solid relationships with our team. We firmly believe that the strength of these relationships provides the foundation for optimal development. When young people feel cared for, protected, and emotionally secure, they have a better chance of reaching their full potential.

In turn, we empower our staff to prioritize the well-being of the young people, acting as genuinely caring adults who:

- Challenge and support young people to live fulfilling lives.
- Help young people develop the necessary skills and energy to become happy and successful adults.
- Advocate for young people to ensure they receive their rights and entitlements.
- Encourage and inspire young people to explore and pursue opportunities for academic and vocational growth.

Our aim is to provide consistent, effective, supportive, and positive accommodation and service experiences for children, ensuring their overall well-being and success.
